“Juice are a three-piece vocal ensemble with a flair for killer arrangements and absolutely stunning harmonies. ‘Heal You’ is the first track to be released from the group’s sophomore album, scheduled for an April release. Yet again, the three ladies demonstrate perfectly just what can be achieved with the human voice. It’s an absolute masterclass in vocal perfection and a track that demands your attention” So So Gay Magazine

‘Eighteen immaculately achieved tracks, spanning Elisabeth Lutyens to Gabriel Prokofiev via folk song and avant garde, enchant and enthrall.’ – The Observer (Fiona Maddocks)
The range of this new young vocal trio is immense, their a cappella journeys on this debut album taking in everything from traditional folk to Berio-esque deconstruction, delivered with perfect pitch and an ear for the most apt harmony.’ – The Independent
‘Pierrot Lunaire’ by Roger Marsh – on NMC label
Juice feature in this wonderful recording of Roger Marsh’s settings of the original French poems by Albert Giraud.
Roger Marsh, long fascinated by the poems which Schoenberg set for his Pierrot Lunaire, has completed a setting of Albert Giraud’s brilliant and allusive original texts, ignored by Schoenberg commentators over the years.
Marsh’s settings use both the original French and a new English translation specially commissioned from Kay Bourlier — sometimes simultaneously — and feature solo voice, choirs, a human beatbox and a narrator in the role of the poet himself. This recording, supervised by the composer, features The Hilliard Ensemble and Red Byrd, together with vocal trio Juice, the Ebor Singers and vocalist Linda Hirst.
‘The work is supremely approachable, with expressive, often simple harmonies offset by catchy rhythms, touching on popular styles in ways which echo Messiaen and Berio.’ – Gramaphone
‘Buy and enjoy this marvellous, honest music…a sheer feast with dreams left over. Marsh shows the greatness of Giraud’s haunting images.’ – Music Web
